French Breakfast Puffs:Little Puffs of Yum

I have looked at these a number of times in one of my vintage cookbooks and just passed over them..They seemed too simple, too average, too mediocre. A little flour, a few eggs..some butter…yadda yadda yadda.
But something whispered to me the other morning and I thought that I would. I mean, why not? So what […]

Butterscotch Muffins Go with Tea or Coffee

Muffins have to be one of my favorite foods because they are versatile and quick, two things that I really like in a recipe. :)
You can have them for breakfast, or lunch, or even dinner. You can use them as a snack or with a relaxing cup of tea in the afternoon….and on..and on…

Think Spring: Key Lime & Rose Muffins

I had some leftover key lime juice from the key lime and strawberry pie that I made and I wanted to use it up. It is not cheap stuff, and besides that, it is too good to let it go bad. Sounds like a country song title, doesn’t it?

Maple Crumb Cakes for a Wintery Breakfast

Cold weather  is at it’s best with something like Maple Crumb Cakes for a wintery breakfast!  The quiet early morning, the pink sky…and the fire crackling in the fireplace just make things feel comforting and warm…even though it was cold.

Before I give you my thoughts on this incredible Maple Apple Streusel Muffin, let me say that I have no clue what is up with my lighting for my photographs. Combination of cheap, old camera and the new type of light bulbs (green but yellow if you know what I mean)..or maybe it is […]

Blueberry White Chocolate Muffins

Yep, you read that right. Oh my, they are sooo good. We used to make them at the tea room that we owned and they would sell out almost as soon as we took them out of the oven. The aroma just took over the dining area!

Banana Muffins

Muffins are a staple around here, if you haven’t noticed.  They are so quick to do, freeze well, there are about fifty million gazillion different  kinds, and everyone likes them.

One of my favorites of all time, coming in second only to blueberry, is banana nut muffins and all the variations possible.  At various times […]

Rhubarb Pecan Muffins with Streusel

Muffins for breakfast are a luxury in this day and age. We do eat breakfast here, due in part I think, to a somewhat slower lifestyle but I know that often a poptart and a gulped down glass of milk or coffee is the breakfast of necessity.
There is something about a steaming muffin […]
