This summer is certainly starting off to be a party! I am not sure I have partied this much since the late 70s!
These cookies […]

We were headed to a party the other night. It was the birthday party for some friends of my younger sons, but the whole family was invited. I always feel badly for people that invite all of us because of

Lemon snaps are an easy old fashioned cookie that you really don’t hear much about anymore, and that is a pity. They are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and lemony sweet throughout. There is just nothing that compares with them for an old fashioned treat…unless it is gingersnaps…or molasses cookies…or…

So, how was Mother’s Day? Mine was extremely quiet and uneventful which sounds boring but was really nice! My oldest son called and we ended up chatting for over two hours. That usually does not happen but I guess we were both rather lonely for each other. He comes home the […]

These cookies, well the original, have quite a following. They are available only in the Baltimore area or by mail, and the recipe seems to be a closely guarded secret. Others have tried to come close but it just doesn’t ever seem to be quite right.
These are intensely vanilla, soft and cakey, moist, […]

First of all, I know the color looks a little weird in this picture. I had to play around with it quite a bit. I took the picture of these cookies at night (I dared not wait for day, because we have ..you know, some sort of leprechauns or pixies or something that […]
