Foodie Blogs
Once upon a time when one got married one cooked without the assistance of a microwave, and looked up recipes in one’s cookbook collection rather than on the internet. I would know this because I was married in 1980 and experienced this primitive life myself.
In some ways that simpler time was good because I spent less time on the computer…but the draw of being able to read millions of recipes a day is almost addictive…and as any good addict will tell you..it is important to get others addicted as well.
SO..here are a few of the blogs I read…some are all business about recipes..some are funny..some have beautiful photography…enjoy them! ANd if you leave a comment tell them I sent you… ;)
The Leftover Queen - a great combination of stuff, recipes, thoughts, ideas, awesome pictures and product reviews. She also has started a foodie blogroll which has a million and a half..or so..links to OTHER foodie blogs…the ultimate tessarect if you will, of food blogs. It is going to take months to explore my way through them.
The Chocolate Gourmand- If you just one time look at the picture of the perfect Blackberry Sorbet featured on May 31 you will be hooked. Seriously.
Retro Recipe Challenge - this is a fun blog where you are challenged to make a recipe from a vintage cookbook. The posts are sporadic but interesting.
chocolate bytes just to sniff the computer moniter.
O.k..that should get you started…better put something in the crockpot with a recipe from Diary of a SAHM and start hitting those links!
Oh, and p.s…..the carrot cake was incredible…do take the time to make it..I will be glad to make one and ship it overnight for anyone willing to come and finish one of the projects I have going on the 4300 square feet of potential..I have 4 ovens actually, so I can do 4 cakes at a time and I certainly have enough projects for 4 people… :)

I’m old school. I still don’t have a microwave and I still use my trusty cookbooks. I do have a garlic press — does that make me high tech? At all?

hmm..garlic press you say? Wow that’s a hard call… I think a garlic press qualifies you as a techi in training…
